Parochial Church Council (PCC)

The PCC is the official governing body and executive committee of a Church of England parish, made up of the local vicar, churchwardens, and elected members of the congregation.

PCC meets every 2 months and has a number of functions:

  • Promote spiritual, pastoral, social and community mission

  • Manages the parish finances

  • Maintains and repairs church buildings

  • Serves as the formal employer for paid parish staff, such as administrators, cleaners, youth workers, or musicians

  • Representation - consults on church services and voices parish concerns or welfare issues upward to the wider deanery and bishop.

Join PCC

Interested in joining PCC? There’s an election in April each year, and you need to be age 16 or over, and have been a church member for at least 6 months.
