We come to church to meet God and to share life as a church family.
During our service, there will be hymns and songs (words provided). Feel free to join in as much as you like. There will be prayers, a reading from the Bible & a sermon, where we look to unpack the passage & learn more about God through it. Then we like to chat over tea and coffee, which is a great place to get to know people.
-
Our Sunday services start at 10:30am. You may want to arrive a bit earlier, so you can grab a tea or coffee and a piece of Margaret’s amazing cake, take a seat and have a chat with us. Don't worry if we have already started. You can still come in and join us!
-
We know coming to church for the first time can be a daunting experience, but we want to do everything we can to make you feel comfortable.
You won’t have to do anything you don't want to, and that can even include leaving before the end of the service if you wish. You can remain as anonymous as you want, but be encouraged to introduce yourself - we'd love to get to know you!
-
We are a relaxed church so feel free to wear whatever is comfortable!
Our church attenders wear everything from shorts and t-shirts to smarter suits and everything in between!
-
Our vicars and greeters are good at signposting what to do during a service, so you will usually be directed when to sit and stand.
If you prefer not to take communion you can still come up for a blessing, just keep your arms by your side and the vicar will know to pray for you. If you would rather stay in your seat that’s ok too!
If you have particular needs, such as not being phyically able to come up for communion, please let our greeters know and they can arrange for the vicar to come to you during the service. Please see our accessibility page under the about tab for more accessibility information.
All of our wine is alcohol-free and we have gluten free wafers available for communion, please ask the vicar for one if you would like one.
-
Please see our accessibility page under the ‘about’ tab for more information. In summary we have:
Access ramp at the side door
A hearing induction loop
Large text on screens
Grab rails in toilets
Wheelchair spaces in seats
Baby changing facilities
-
We have two toilets located in the foyer (at the back of church) as you come in the main door. If you have come in via the access ramp then you will need to proceed down the side aisle to get to the foyer.
Both toilets have grab rails and the right hand toilet has baby changing facilities.

Children are welcomed and encouraged at St Peter’s! We have a range of activities happening both on Sundays and during the week. We don’t mind if your child is running around during the service! For preschoolers, we have a dedicated creche space run by trained and DBS checked leaders, toys for kids to play with, and you can still hear the service if you’d prefer to stay with your child.
We also have groups with a range of fun church-related activities for older kids which take place in our church hall next door - The Hermitage.
Our Altogether service is a good place to start, with a storytelling zone, a snack zone, music zone, discussion zone, and quiet reflective space, there’s something for everyone!
